Recipe Ingredients:
– Beef (flattened pieces): 1 kg
– Papaya paste: 1 tbsp
– Roasted poppy seeds: 1 tbsp
– Roasted coconut powder: 2 tbsp
– Roasted almonds: 10-12
– Red chilies: 1 tbsp (or to taste)
– Ginger paste: 1 tbsp
– Green chilies paste: 1 tbsp (or to taste)
– Clove and black pepper powder: 1 tsp
– Jaifel javetri powder (mace powder): 1/2 to 3/4 tsp
– Roasted chickpea (chanay): 1 tbsp
– Roasted coriander powder: 3/4 tsp
– Roasted cumin powder: 3/4 tsp
– Yogurt: 1 cup
– Salt: 1 tsp (or to taste)
– Oil: 1 cup
– Fried onion: 1 small
Instructions:
1. Prepare Spice Powder:
– Roast and grind poppy seeds, coconut powder, almonds, red chilies, clove, black pepper, jaifel javetri, chickpea, coriander seeds, and cumin seeds into a fine powder.
2. Marinate Beef:
– Mix the ground spice powder, ginger paste, green chilies paste, yogurt, and salt to make a marinade.
– Add the marinade to the beef pieces and mix well.
– If cooking later, exclude papaya paste from the marinade and add it 30 minutes before cooking.
– Let the beef marinate for at least 30 minutes.
3. Cook Beef:
– Heat oil in a pan and add the marinated beef with fried onion.
– Sauté on high heat for 1 minute, then reduce the flame, cover, and cook until the meat is tender.
– Once the meat is tender, increase the heat and sauté until the water evaporates and the oil separates.
Serve:
– Serve hot with naan or chapati.
Tips:
– Adjust the amount of spices according to your taste.
– Papaya paste helps tenderize the meat, so it’s essential to add it before cooking.
